Feedbacks and testimonies from beta testers

“I’ve been trying out the T-Saturator and I have to say it’s fantastic! I wasn’t sure how much use I would get out of this kind of serial saturation but it’s excellent, with a huge amount of tone-shaping possibilities. I think the only thing I’m personally missing is some master wow and flutter controls (I understand doing things on a slot by slot basis would be a nightmare), because I do like using these kinds of effects in extreme ways.”

“I tried an experiment. 1 band on and filters set to25hz and 14,501hz. Zero percent, full dry. As I play the song and raise the saturation knob the mix sounds like the filters are getting steeper in their cuts as saturation is increased. The mix gets thinner and tighter feeling even when the band is set at full dry the whole time. When bypassing the effect all returns to normal. My sense is these filters might be getting in the way of the ease some songs need to retain. I am sure this will work great for many genres… but it would be great to have the choice, especially for easy going softer music that really can’t take steeper curves. Maybe there is another explanation for this you might have. Perhaps a mode switch setting for different music types??”

“Feels like you are applying expanders in with the saturation increases. I notice the sound is more direct as I increase percentages. Also though the mix is becoming a little thinner and tighter in the sound which wouldn’t be my choice when saturating necessarily. Perhaps this would be really useful when a mix was really needing expansion and engineers didn’t have a clue how to do that. That however wouldn’t work for those engineers that understand expansion deeply and don’t want an ounce more of it. When I grab for a saturator it really is about adding only lightly to what I’ve done already without taking away a thing. I would prefer to have an adjustment for expansion I could dial in and out and also the choice of having the cut filters in or out too.”

“I do like what this does to a very problematic flute which is too prominent in the mix and resists fixing with both multiband dynamics plus EQ. Your saturator using 7.5 tames it down nicely right away.”
